Empowering Communities. Uplifting Voices. Creating Lasting Change.

KienguWcc (Kiengu Women Challenged to Challenge) is a grassroots, community-led organization based in Meru County, Kenya. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful belief: that women—when empowered—can spark transformational change within their families, communities, and beyond.

What started as a network of local women challenging social barriers has grown into a dynamic, inclusive movement for development, empowerment, and social justice. We work alongside youth, persons with disabilities, community groups, and partners to co-create solutions that respond to real, lived challenges—guided by empathy, resilience, and a commitment to progress.

🌍 Our Mission

We envision an inclusive society where women and girls with disabilities are fully empowered, enjoy equal rights, and actively participate in all aspects of life with dignity, respect, and opportunity.

🌟 Our Vision

Our mission is to empower women and girls with disabilities and their families by building their capacity, amplifying their voices, and equipping them to confidently claim their rights and lead transformative change within their communities.

Our Approach & Areas of Focus

💪 Women & Youth Empowerment

We create safe spaces and opportunities for women and young people to learn, lead, and grow. Through savings groups, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship, we are building a new generation of confident, capable changemakers.

♿ Disability Inclusion

In collaboration with partners like CBM Global, we support persons with disabilities through community-based rehabilitation, physiotherapy services, and advocacy. From mobility support to awareness campaigns, our work ensures no one is left out.

🛠 Community Development

We address everyday challenges with practical, sustainable solutions—ranging from tree planting and food security to clean water access and economic strengthening. All our work is rooted in community insights and ownership.

👥 Local Leadership

True change begins at the grassroots. Our programs are co-designed and led by local leaders who know the community best. We train and support these leaders to be drivers of progress in their own neighborhoods.

Our Impact in Action

  • Supported over 30 persons with disabilities through accessible therapy and assistive devices.
  • Enabled the growth of savings groups and women’s self-help initiatives across villages.
  • Partnered with global organizations to bring inclusive healthcare and education closer to home.
  • Facilitated mentorship, training, and development for youth leaders and community champions.

Why We Exist

Because challenges are meant to be faced—and no one should have to face them alone. At KienguWcc, we believe in the power of community. We believe in the potential of women. And we believe that sustainable development starts when ordinary people come together to do extraordinary things.
